Fundraisers Being Held For Family Of Nicole Bennett

DELAWARE - The daughters and husband of the late Nicole Bennett are getting some help. A family friend headed up some fundraisers to assist them during this trying time. It was discovered that 35-year-old Nicole's life was taken back in June after she did not come home from work.

This is not new territory for Lori Hopkins, she put on a successful fundraiser for a grieving family after a plane crash took the life of a father and daughter back in 2005. Hopkins says "What can I do to help this family? So, I'm hoping that Sussex County can come through for me again and that we all pull together to help this family in any way, because they are devastated."

The first fundraiser was held Wednesday August 29th. Residents dropped off donations at the fire stations in Ellendale, Lewes, Milton, Gumboro, and Millsboro.

This Wednesday, September 12th, you can head out to Grotto's Pizza, the girl's favorite restaurant, in Longneck and Milford from 4 PM to 9 PM. 20% of your check will go to the family, but you must have a voucher, just print the picture of it shown to the right, or on our Facebook page.
