
STOCKTON, Md. - Grace Cherrix Coulbourne, 96, formerly of Stockton, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Hartley Hall Nursing and Rehab Center in Pocomoke City. Born February 27, 1916 in Stockton, MD, she was a daughter of the late John Ed and Ethel Hancock Cherrix. She had been a faithful member of Portersville United Methodist Church in Stockton for many years. A farmers wife, she also retired from the Manhatten Shirt Factory, worked at the MAC Center in Snow Hill and was a member of the Stockton Fire Department Auxillary.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Coulbourne Bromley and her husband George R. of Titusville, FL; a son Charles Edwin Coulbourne and his wife Sue Rayne Coulbourne of Snow Hill; three grandchildren, Vicki Coulbourne Hall Harrison and her husband Daren of Fort Collins, CO, Kelly Coulbourne Brewington of Snow Hill and Charles Rayne "Skipper" Coulbourne of Snow Hill, MD; four great grandchildren, Michael Shawn Brewington, Bryan Christopher Hall, Ashley Nicole Hall and Tyler Rayne Brewington; and five great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Emerson Coulbourne, Jr.
A graveside service will be held, Monday, August 20, 2012 at Portersville Methodist Cemetery, George Island Landing Road, Stockton, MD at 2:00 PM. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stockton Volunteer Fire Dept., 1501 Snow Hill Road, Stockton, MD 21864.
