Elizabeth Eleanora Wood Insley - WMDT 47 News - Delmarva's Choice

SALISBURY, Md. - Elizabeth Eleanora Wood Insley, 93, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, August 16th, 2012 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born October 8, 1918 in Mosby, AR, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Wood and Holly Florrie Gould Wood. She was a member of, and volunteered at, St. Francis de Sales and also did volunteer work for her community for more than 40 years. She was a retired social worker for the State of Maryland. She loved reading, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, James Henry Wood Insley and his wife, Jamie, of Ellicott City and John Webb Insley, Jr. and his wife, Mary Louise of Berlin; two daughters, Eleanor Insley and Page Insley Austin, both of Salisbury; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Holly Eugenia Wood Gattas of Memphis, TN; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Webb Insley, Sr.; a daughter, Susan Carol Insley; and a granddaughter, Stacey Eleanora Stotler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 20th, 2012 at 11:00 am St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the St. Paul's P. E. Cemetery in Vienna. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 535 Riverside Drive, Salisbury, MD 21801.
