OCEAN CITY, Md. -- A beach backdrop is what sets Ocean City apart from other stops on the Dew Tour, and the athletes are stoked to be back on the Eastern Shore.
"Who doesn't enjoy ramps on the beach I mean it's a picture perfect setting it's every riders dream," BMX rider Jamie Bestwick tells WMDT.
Bestwick won seven championships in a row on the BMX Vert, and this year is hoping to do it again.
"I just spent the last 3 weeks at the Olympics I haven't touched my bike I managed to cram 3 weeks' worth of riding into 2 sessions," he says.
You may remember legendary skateboarder Bob Burnquist was injured at last year's dew tour, but this weekend plans to compete in 3 events. He's hoping for a comeback in the Skate Vert, Bowl, and new this year, the mega ramp.
"Last year I was here I wasn't able to skate so I'm happy that I'm healthy and this year it seems like there are a lot of us on the field everyone seems healthy and ready to go I'm just glad to be able to skate for the OC grout," Burnquist tells us.
Also new this year is the Dew Tour Experience, and if you are looking to catch up with Bob Burnquist or Jamie Bestwick you can meet them at the Toyota exhibits Friday and Saturday. Bestwick will be available Friday from 1-2pm, and Saturday from 2:30-3:30pm. Then Bob Burnquist will be available Friday and Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30pm.
