OCEAN CITY, Md. - Police are looking into a death of a man that happened at the Ocean City Inlet. According to Ocean City Police Stephen Ostan, 49, and his 2-year-old child, both of Pennsylvania, were walking on the sea wall at the inlet, and fell off hitting the rocks during their falls.
The child was reportedly clinging to the rocks when a good samaritan was able to pull him back to safety. Police say that a boat pulled to help Ostan, who had an apparent head injury. Together the privately owned boat, OC Beach Patrol, OC Fire Department, and a parasail boat all assisted with the recovery of Ostan, who was then rushed by the parasail boat to the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Ocean City.
The 2-year-old was taken to Atlantic General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and later released. Ostan was also taken to AGH, where he was pronounced dead. His cause of death is being investigated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Maryland. The investigation into Ostan's death is still on-going.
