David Channell
SALISBURY, Md. - A Quantico man has been arrested after he apparently left a child in a hot car. The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says they received a call about an unattended mini-van with a child inside.
By the time they arrived on scene, the caller had put the child in an air conditioned vehicle. They say that the child looked lethargic and was sweating. The van's driver, David Channell, the child's mother's boyfriend, returned and claimed that he was chasing down a loose dog.
Channell was later arrested and charged after a police investigation. He was charged with neglect of a minor, confine and unattended child, and reckless endangerment, and is now being held at the Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
