BIVALVE, Md. - A 49-year-old Bivalve man has been arrested after he allegedly held a house party for a group of teenagers. According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office they were called to a residence on Nanticoke Road where they found a party with an extremely large crowd, deputies estimated around 300 people.
They say that as soon as they pulled up, party-goers started to run from the property. The deputies reportedly saw a large amount of both beer and liquor in plain view, and most of the crowd appeared to be teenagers and young adults.
Deputies were able to stop 50 people who were between the ages of 16 and 20, all of which were cited. Those in attendance were from all over Delmarva, including Bivalve, Salisbury, Snow Hill, and even as far as Harrington and Lewes, DE.
The owner of the home, John Jones, was arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor, disorderly house, and contributing to the condition of a minor. He was later released. Deputies say that Jones was aware of both the party and the ages of those attending.
Lt. Tim Robinson, of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says that his office takes these incidents seriously. "We just want to stress that the Sheriff's Office, especially on the behalf of sheriff Mike Lewis, we take this kind of behavior very seriously. Just remember that old saying that parents who host are going to loose the most."
