DOVER, Del. - A man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to take money from a Dover liquor store. Dover Police say they were responding to a call for a robbery in progress, and were able to catch the suspect as he fled from the store.
An investigation into the incident showed that Phillip Hartley, 35, walked into E and J Liquors on Forest Street with a plastic bag on his head, while holding a razor box cutter knife, and demanded money from the cashier. The two reportedly got into a fight but Hartley got free and fled the store without getting any money, only to be picked up by Police.
No one was injured during the fight. Hartley was charged with 1st degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and other related offences. He is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $11,100 bond.
