QUANTICO, Md. - A family of five has been displaced after a fire destroyed their home.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office reports that the blaze broke out on Thursday around 1 PM, in the utility room of the single story Nanticoke Road home. Investigators say the fire was an accident and was caused by an overheated dryer vent.
No injuries were reported. It took 45 firefighters around 20 minutes to control. Damages are estimated at $140,000. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
