GEORGETOWN, Del. - A Georgetown couple was arrested for endangering their children. Delaware State Police report that Melvin Morse, 58, was arrested on July 12th after he dragged his 11-year-old daughter by her ankle across their gravel driveway. He was released after posting bond.
On August 6th, the 11-year-old victim was brought in for an interview where police say she told them that on at least 4 occasions over the last two years, her father "waterboarded" her, by putting her face under a faucet causing the water to go up her nose. They say that her mother, Pauline Morse, was there at the time of these incidents and did not stop them.
On August 7th, both Melvin and Pauline, were arrested charged with 1st degree felony reckless endangering, 2nd degree felony conspiracy, and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
Melvin is being held at Sussex Correctional Institute on bond, and has been ordered to have no contact with Pauline or the children. Pauline was released and is to have no contact with Melvin or the children.
Their 11-year-old and 5-year-old daughters are in the care of Division of Family Services.
