DOVER, Del. (AP) - The Delaware Forest Service for the second time this summer is sending a crew to help fight wildfires in the western United States.
A group of 20 volunteers mobilized at Blackbird State Forest on Monday night in preparation for their departure Tuesday from Harrisburg, Pa.
A press release received on Thursday stated that the 20 volunteers have been assigned to an incident known as the Minidoka Complex, a grouping of three
previously separate fires located 15 miles southeast of Twin Falls, Idaho that
is estimated at 32,353 acres in size with only 10 percent containment.
At least
255 personnel are working on the incident which includes the previously
reported Cave Canyon and Deer Hollow fires. So far no structures have been lost, thanks to the tireless
efforts of Delaware's crew members.
In June, Delaware sent a 20-man team that helped fight the Arapaho Fire near Wheatland, Wyo., that burned more than 88,000 acres.
