Troopers Investigate Bicycle Crash Near Fenwick

Fenwick Island, Del.- The Delaware State Police is currently investigating a crash involving a bicyclist that occurred west of Fenwick Island Saturday afternoon.
 
The incident occurred at approximately 5:40 PM Saturday afternoon. Beth H. Midgett was operating a 2008 Mercedes-Benz westbound on Lighthouse Road preparing to turn left onto Madison Avenue. 

Christopher M. McGervey was traveling westbound on a bicycle in the eastbound shoulder approaching Madison Avenue.  As Midgett turned onto Madison Avenue, McGervey struck the left front of the Mercedes causing him to be ejected off the bicycle and onto the roadway.
 
McGervey was removed from the scene by LifeNet and airlifted to Christiana Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
 
Midgett and her 16 year-old passenger were not injured in the crash.
 
The investigation into this crash is continuing and charges are pending.
