Coast Guard Rescues Boater Near Crisfield

CRISFIELD, MD- Saturday evening, the Coast Guard rescued a boater in Tangier Sound near Crisfield. The Coast Guard rescued a 50 year-old man after the 20-foot sailboat he was aboard capsized.

The man's wife contacted watch standers at Coast Guard Sector near Baltimore

At approximately 8:23 PM on Saturday, the 50 year-old man's sailboat capsized in Tangier Sound. He was sitting on top of the overturned boat and required assistance.

A crew aboard a 25-foot Coast Guard Response Boat arrived on scene and brought the man aboard their boat to safety.

He was transferred to Deal Island Fire and Rescue and then taken to Deal Island.

No injuries were reported.
