Attempted Robbery Suspect Arrested In Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man is behind bars after allegedly attempting to rob a woman.

Salisbury Police report that on Monday around midnight on South Division Street, a woman was approached by William Ricketts, 51, who told her to put her hands in the air, and demanded her purse. Police say that a witness intervened, causing Ricketts to flee without the purse.

The victim believed he had a gun. Officers found Ricketts later, and arrested him. He was charged with attempted armed robbery and attempted robbery, and released to central booking.
