Duke's Lumber Celebrates 50 Years

LAUREL, Del. - A local business is celebrating 50 years. Duke's Lumber commemorates their milestone with a two-day event. The company has a long family line through Delaware founder Silas Dukes was born and raised in Laurel.

The shop has expanded since his passing his two sons now run 2 locations with over 50 employees.

Dale Dukes, owner of Duke's Lumber, says "we've been here successfully 50 years and we've had a good run at it, and we do appreciate all of our loyal customers."

The owners attribute their success to following Silas' philosophy: "treat each customer like you would want to be treated."
