OCEAN CITY, Md. - Fire officials say a water sprinkler may have prevented major fire damage to an Ocean City restaurant.
Flames broke out around 3:16 a.m. Friday at Higgins Crab House on 128th Street. Officials say a passerby reported the fire.
Firefighters were able to get the fire, which originated in the kitchen, under control around 4:13 a.m. Officials say a sprinkler was activated during the blaze, which prevented extensive damages to the rest of the restaurant. No word on the exact amount of damages.
Officials say no one was injured and the incident does not appear to be suspicious.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
