SALISBURY, Md. - An early morning fire at a Salisbury business may have caused thousands of dollars in damages.
Officials with the Salisbury Fire Department say the blaze broke out around 1:50 a.m. Friday at Tru-Arc Welder Generator Services on Northwood Drive.
Officials say Salisbury Fire stations 16, 2 and 1 all responded to the scene. When firefighters arrived they observed heavy fire coming from inside the building. Once inside officials say they noticed the fire coming from a maintenance area near a zero-turn mower.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire. However, they say the building sustained some structural damages. Officials say damages are estimated at around $50,000.
Officials believe the cause of the fire is an electrical malfunction surrounding the mower. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
