WATTSVILLE, Va. - Willie Hastings Elliott, 96, of Wattsville, VA, died peacefully, after a short illness, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at PRMC. Born on September 14, 1915 she was a daughter of the late William and Bessie Justice Hastings. She was lifelong member of Wattsville United Methodist Church. A graduate of the Wilmington School of Nursing in Wilmington DE., she retired from PRMC in 1980 as a Nursing Supervisor with 30 years of service. She was an avid crocheter who also enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Temperenceville Lodge.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; George E. Elliott Sr., a daughter; Mitzi Elliott, brother; Rhodes Hastings; three sisters, Estelle Hurley, Elizabeth Lewis and Melissa Hastings. She is survived by two sons; George Elliott and his wife Judy of Sign Post, VA and Jerry Elliott and his wife June of Salisbury, seven grandchildren; Stephen Bowden and his wife Kathy, Mitzi Fitchett and her husband Jeff, Teresa Batchler, Beth Matthews and her husband Scott, Brenda Rayfield and her husband Jay, Kathy Elliott and Jerri Lynne Elliott, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Maury Enright will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Wattsville United Methodist Church, where friends may call one hour prior. A visitation will also be held Friday, July 27, 2012 from 7-9 PM, with an Eastern Star service to be held at 7:00 at the Holloway Funeral Home, 107 Vine St, Pocomoke City, MD, 21851. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or if desired, contributions may be made to Wattsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 44, Wattsville, VA, 23483.
