UPDATE: Crazy Food Concoctions At The Delaware State Fair

Posted: Updated:

HARRINGTON, Del. - The food aromas at the Delaware state fair are intoxicating - you have to come here on an empty stomach. So we took some popular items, added a little teaspoon of creativity and a dash of bravery to try these dishes for you.

A fair favorite - fried food and sweet treats, but WMDT wanted to shake things up and see what crazy concoctions we can create. I asked one booth "Can you deep fry cotton candy?" They said "I don't know I never tried it." Maybe not, but wait until you sink your teeth in this, a slice of Grottos pizza deep fried in Cajun batter. Drew Webster of Grottos Pizza says "I've made pizza for 16 years and never thought about deep frying it and it's pretty interesting, yes."

Many have heard about the donut burger, but we wanted to put a different spin on a bigger better belly buster. Feast your eyes on what we call the funnel fried pulled porker. Cole slaw, BBQ pulled pork and Two sugary funnel Cakes. Little Richards concession stand smokes their pulled pork for 14 hours, and has their own secret recipe for the coleslaw.

We thought "that is so good that's amazing mmmm... I didn't know what to think about it but it is good."Let's see what fair goers think. "You get it all it's your dessert and it's your dinner." "All that mixed together at one time no." "Delicious, you like it? It's good."

We didn't forget about the sweet treats. Sweet Dreams Concessions gave us their newest item this year, a frozen chocolate dipped cheesecake slice on a stick. You can imagine how heavenly that dessert was.

Little Richards is also bringing their BBQ goodness and fair food to Dover, Delaware. They're opening up a restaurant this September, so make sure you check them out.
