Rogge Plays Down Fears of Olympics 'Brand Police'

LONDON (AP) - IOC President Jacques Rogge says there will be a "balanced and reasonable" response from organizers to fans wearing unofficial brands at the London Olympics.
    
Rogge says no action will be taken against individuals if the logos on their T-shirts, for example, are of competitors to official sponsors.
    
Rogge adds "common sense will prevail" but warned that Olympic sponsors' rights would be protected and a "blatant" attempt at ambush marketing would result in intervention by the IOC and the local organizing committee.
    
Head organizer Sebastian Coe had suggested there would be a strong response to fans with unofficial branding, telling a radio station a person with a Pepsi T-shirt wouldn't be allowed into an Olympic venue because soft drink rival Coca-Cola is a main sponsor.
