Easton Woman Convicted Of Stealing $335,000

EASTON, Md. - A woman has been convicted of embezzlement in Talbot County. Katherine Haddaway, of Easton, was found guilty of 37 counts of fraudulently taking money, which totaled more than $335,000.

The money was taken from companies owned by Wayne Hilmer and located on Jet Lane at the Easton Airport. Haddaway admitted that she had received the money but claimed it was a gift from Hilmer, who she had a personal relationship with.

Evidence showed that Haddaway had used a few different ways to get the money including forging checks, and paying her credit card bill using the company account, this happened 270 times.
