HARRINGTON, Del. - The Delaware Division of Fish and Wild Life wants to teach locals the benefits of eating Wild Game. They held a cooking demonstration today, showing how to make Venison Hash. They also taught people to properly clean, de-bone and filet a fish.
Their goal is to show people how to hunt and fish safely, and prepare what they take from the field or the boat to the table. "Today's diets are heavy and fat. wild game is naturally better for you, when you consume it. and a lot of people frown against eating wild game because they think it tastes gamey. but it doesn't- if you prepare it correctly, everyone can enjoy it, and that's what were out to prove."
Following the cooking demonstration, they held a "Wicked Men and Women" cooking competition in which wild game dishes were judged based on flavor, look, food preparation, nutritional value and table setting.
