HARRINGTON, Del. - A great day here at the fair despite the rain, a good flow of people have been trickling in. A lot of them are congregating to some of the main attractions, the petting zoo and the circus. The owner tells me they've had a great turnout...in fact, last night was the best night they've ever had!
All the way from Bradenton, Florida, Serge Coronas and his family travel around the country for their annual state fair tour, and they start right here in Harrington, Delaware. "All my children work for me. My son, my 2 daughters, my little boy, my wife - everybody's here. So it's a real family operation, and that's the way we run it."
His daughters Crystal and Nicole were born into the business and never plan on leaving it. "It's definitely my life and it's amazing- point blank amazing. We grew up here and we always had a chance to do something else, but its something we can't get away from. It's amazing because we travel around with our family, so we're very close. We have each other no matter what. We train together, we eat together, we live together."
The family spends more than $4000 and loads up 13 semi trucks to bring a circus, a petting zoo, pony rides and pig races to families looking for great entertainment. "The circus is 200 years old and it's the only entertainment left that has not been rated. We have never been x-rated. It's still family entertainment."
The circus, zoo and pig races continue until the last day of the fair, and the best part is, they're all absolutely free! The first 100 people to get into the circus have VIP seating around the ring, so make sure you get there early!
