SALISBURY, Md. - The construction for the Onley-Bateman-South Division project has officially begun. Today marked a milestone, because this was 6 years in the making.
Salisbury University, donated $180,000 to the project. They partnered up with the city to create new stop lights, a bike path, and a safer pedestrian crossing for residents in the area.
Janet Dudley-Eshbach, President of Salisbury University, "Above all, safety is our concern...We'd like it safer for students to walk at anytime... Again, this part of, uh, improving the area generally"
They are aiming to have all changes completed by mid August, in time for the beginning of the University school year.
