LEWES, Del. - A Friday night fire is still under investigation in Lewes. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office reports that on July 13th and around 2:50 PM, Lewes Fire Department reported to a house fire in Paynter's Mill Estates on John Rowland Trail.
Officials say that they found one occupant in the kitchen that the Lewes Fire Department personnel had to rescue. The victim had to be taken to Crozer Medical Center for smoke inhalation treatment. Authorities are still trying to determine what caused the fire. They estimate the damages to be at $50,000.
