CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with Wednesday's fire in Cambridge. Deputy State Fire Marshal's report that the two alarm blaze started at around 7 PM, and took nearly 100 firefighters two hours to get the fire under control. Officials say that two firefighters were injured while batting the blaze.
The building was reportedly vacant, but officials say they were informed of a homeless person who often frequented the building, so they brought in cadaver dogs, who didn't find anything.
During the official's investigation they determined Jeffery Von Smith, 18, and a 15-year-old female, were involved with igniting the fire. Authorities estimate the damages at around $250,000.
Both have been charged with 2nd degree arson and 1st degree malicious burning. Smith is being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center on $75,000 bond, and the 15-year-old was released to the custody of her parents.
