SALISBURY, Md. - Irene Bosley Willing, 79, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at her home after enjoying lunch with her daughter and grandson. Irene was born July 11, 1932 in Princess Anne, MD, to the late, Ralph and Anna Mae Wilson. Irene graduated from Washington High School in Princess Anne and was lovingly nicknamed "Peanut" by her friends. She married Kenneth Jones Willing, Sr. of Deal Island, MD and moved to Salisbury to reside for 57 years as a devoted and loving wife. She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, gardening, bingo, badmitten, shuffleboard, playing cards and had a passion for scrabble. Irene was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, the VFW and of the Moose Lodge. She was a valued and dedicated employee who worked at Super Giant Store 51 for 33 years and was then promoted to manager of the Pants Corral for 8 years.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth J. Willing, Jr. and his wife, Luanne of Accomac, VA, Debra Willing Hall and her husband, Robert of Hebron and Lisa Ann Willing Blackaby and her husband, Phillip of Sao Paulo, Brazil; 6 grandchildren: Savannah & Wyatt Hall, Stuart & Veronica Blackaby and Reggie & Christopher Willing; her brother Ralph Wilson, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband of 57 years Kenneth Jones Willing, Sr. and her two sisters Doris Robertson and Gladys Whitelock.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Holloway Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Officiating will be Reverend Tom Bunting. Interment will follow at the Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd.
