DELMAR, Del. - Racers started their engines, and placed their bets at the Delaware International Speedway in Delmar. The 40th annual Camp Barnes Benefit Races starts Tuesday at 7. Thousands are expected to come out for the event. There will be drivers from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, and they're competing for prize money but ultimately also for a great cause.
Detective Jeff Hudson of the Delaware State Police says, "It started in 1948, there was a group of individuals that decided to start a camp for kids with behavioral problems, and the Early 90's we changed that, to open it up to kids from ages 10-13 at no financial costs to their parents."
