OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Ocean City Police Department warns residents, business owners and employees to be on the lookout for counterfeit money.

On Friday, two male suspects attempted to make small purchases with a counterfeit $20 bill at three different boardwalk businesses.

The first incident occurred at the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue. Employees recognized the fake money and denied the sale - the suspects then fled the area. But that didn't stop them. Shortly after, they made two more attempts at businesses on South Atlantic Avenue. In both instances, the employees detected the counterfeit bill by using a counterfeit pen.

If you have any information regarding the incident, call Ocean City Police at 410-723-6600.
