Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, Del. - A Delaware correctional officer is accused of having sex with an inmate.

The 22-year-old female prisoner told prison officials that she and 49-year-old Daniel Mann of Dover were involved in a sexual relationship.

The inmate claimed shortly after she entered a work release program on March 7th, she and Mann began a friendly relationship that soon became sexual in nature.  The woman told officials each encounter happened in the facility where she was housed.

Police arrested Mann Tuesday afternoon.  He is charged with sexual relations in a detention facility.  He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,500 cash bail.
