City Of Salisbury Honors Robert Gladden

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A local city is honoring one of its own by lowering the flag. The City of Salisbury will be lowering the flag at the Government Office Building on Monday and Tuesday to honor Robert Gladden.

Gladden was a member of the City Council from 1992 until 1996, and served as Council President in both 1994 and 1995. He also was on the Ethics Board for the City of Salisbury and the Elections Board for Wicomico County.

County Executive Rick Pollitt said, "Bob Gladden was a dedicated public servant in every sense of the word. Our community is much stronger for his having served it and I join his family and friends in expressing our grief and respect."

Mayor Jim Ireton said, "Our community already feels the loss of Bob Gladden. In whatever capacity he was asked, Bob served Salisbury. I will remember his large smile and hearty laugh. Bob's commitment to our community and his valuable advice about issues will be missed."
