Woman Arrested After Reportedly Trying To Sneak Drugs Into Jail

CAROLINE CO., Md. - A woman has additional charges after allegedly trying to smuggle drugs into jail.

Caroline County Drug Task Force reports that they arrested Kelly Blackiston, of Denton, Maryland, for trying to sneak drugs into the Caroline County Detention Center. Blackiston was recently being held at the Detention Center on DUI charges, and waiting trial on murder, manslaughter, and neglect of a minor charges.

When she arrived on July 1st at the Detention Center correctional officers say they searched her, and found suspected cocaine, heroin, and prescription pills, on her person. Blackiston is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a narcotic, possession of contraband in a place of confinement, and other related offences. She is being held on $500,000 bond.
