Crisfield Residents Fed Up Following Continuing Violence

Posted: Updated:

CRISFIELD, Md. - The Crisfield Police Department needs your help after shots rang through a neighborhood. Early Tuesday morning, Crisfield Police answered a call of shots fired in the Somers Cove Apartments. According to police reports, residents heard at least two gunshots, and residents are now speaking out about the violence.

"I feel it's crazy, because you know there's a lot of kids around here and a bullet don't have no name on it," says one resident.

"We innocent people, and we got to go through this, because somebody wanted to shoot and carry on and act ignorant," she continues.

"The youth these days really need more presence of their parents," says another concerned resident.

When police officials arrived on the scene, they found two bullet holes in a Lincoln Navigator.    The two individuals riding inside reportedly abandoned the car, running into a nearby apartment.

"That stuff over there was probably unnecessary probably over something stupid," says a resident.

"They do need to step-up a little bit more as far as the police presence and all that," he says with concern.

Crisfield residents are both stunned and concerned about the level of violence that has plagued their city. Making the claim that this was once a town where you can leave your doors unlocked.

"Its very disappointing because when I was growing up Crisfield was a very quiet town," says a Crisfield man.

According to police, the two men who were shot at are not speaking about the incident and will not say who shot at them. The investigation is ongoing. Fortunately, no one was injured in the shooting, and a reward is now being offered. If you have any information on the shooting you can contact the Crisfield Police department at 410-968-1323.
