MARYLAND - If you're planning on hitting the road or taking to the air for the July 4th weekend, pack your patience. You'll have plenty of company.
AAA Mid-Atlantic estimates more than 846,000 Maryland travelers will be out and about between July 3rd through the weekend. 86 percent will be driving. That's a 5.3 percent increase from last year and reflects the highest volume of travelers in over a decade. We're told declining gas prices and the mid-week holiday appear to be two reasons for the increase.
