SALISBURY, Md., - Perdue is also giving back to the community, through a grant of their own. On Wednesday, officials presented a check to Salisbury Urban Ministries, to help with their Kids' Café nutrition and education program. The Kids Café has served more than 400 underprivileged children in Wicomico County. With the grant, they are now able to purchase the new van they've been saving up for.
"It will provide transportation for our children as we take them on summer field trips also, it will provide transportation in the mornings when we pick them up from their homes to the center," said Reverend Ron Bell.
Perdue says Kids café fits their mission in fighting hunger and helping education.
