SALISBURY, Md. - A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house was held Monday at the newly renovated Tri-county Council Multi-Purpose center. Somerset, Worcester, and Wicomico county officials were in attendance to celebrate the new facility. This consolidated building will be home to the department of labor, the one stop job market, and the lower shore workforce alliance. It is open to everyone who lives in the three counties.
Craig Mathies, the Tri-County Council Chair says, "The different agencies that are located here can probably help the local employment when it comes to helping people find jobs."
Rick Pollitt, the Wicomico County Executive, says "This is an opportunity for the citizens of Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset county to pull our resources and build on the strengths that give us that common identity on the lower Eastern Shore."
The purpose of the Tri-County Council is to facilitate regional planning and development in Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties.
