KENT ISLAND, Md. - The fire in Kent Island that send smoke flying into the air is 100% contained. Preliminary reports show the fire started around 6 AM off of route 8 near Romancoke Road.
Hot spots are still active within the perimeter placed by firemen, and it is expected they will last until the area sees significant rain. More than 40 residents were displaced but have since returned to their homes.
We're told no homes were lost or damaged.
