Sonic Fundraiser Tonight For Fruitland Fire Department

FRUITLAND, Md. - You can dine out Friday night and support your local Fire Department. Sonic in Fruitland is donating part of the proceeds to the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Company. Ten percent of the proceeds earned between 5PM and 8PM will go to the Department.

The Fruitland Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1909. The company currently provides fire service in Wicomico County to the Fruitland area, which consist of about 10,000 residents. In July of 2009, the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Company started a brand new EMS service which includes two ALS (advanced life support) equipped ambulances. The EMS service runs 24 hours a day seven days a week and has 22 staff.
