Delaware State Police report that they started an investigation following a tip from a witness who said that Danielle Finlay, 31, of Newark had hit a student in her classroom for making loud noises. They say that the student's noises continued, and Finlay hit the student again, this time with an empty water bottle.

The incident took place at the Delaware Autistic Program on Brennan Drive in Newark in March. The 17-year-old victim was not injured. Finlay was charged with two counts of offensive touching, and released.
