
Virgil James BakerPARSONSBURG, Md. - Virgil James Baker, 61, of Parsonsburg, passed away on Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 at his home. Born in Gumboro, MD, he was the son of the late Elijah A. Baker and Hester Elizabeth Webb Baker. Virgil was a motorcycle enthusiasts and also enjoyed playing his guitar. He worked for several companies, including, Eastern Shore Coffee and Pepsi-Cola. He was a former member of the Red Men's Lodge and the Fruitland Fire Company. He often volunteered his services playing his guitar in nursing homes and other benefits for others. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Wanda Jo Hill Baker; a son, Kevin James Baker, Sr. (Leslie) of Pittsville; a daughter, Sarah Marie Smack (John) of Salisbury; 4 grandchildren, Kevin James Baker, Jr. of Pittsville, Harley Marie Baker of Fruitland, Dakota William Baker of Fruitland and John Curtis Smack, Jr. of Salisbury; 2 brothers, Tommy Baker (Judy) of Ocean City and Billy Hill (Robin) of Mardela Springs; 4 sisters, Wanda Hill (David ) of Deal Island, Pearl Toomey (Kennard) of Willards, Joyce Baker of Willards and Ann Baker of Pittsville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John William Littleton and a sister, Mary Ellen Baker.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at 11:00am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, the family invites all of his friends with motorcycles in a tribute ride from the funeral home to the family home in Parsonsburg.
