SALISBURY, Md. - Rev. Ralph B. McIntyre, Sr., 83, of Salisbury, died Monday, May 28, 2012. Born in Allen, MD on July 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Elmer and Nora E. McIntyre. Growing up on the eastern shore he loved to spend time at the beach. He married his longtime sweetheart, Hazel M. Robinson on April 20, 1946. Mr. McIntyre graduated from Salisbury State College in 1975 with a bachelor's in social work and went on to earn his masters degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1978. Rev. McIntyre retired from the State of Maryland as an employment specialist in 1994 after 12 years of service; he also worked as a lineman with C & P Telephone for 14 years and as Methodist minister for 20 years. Mr. McIntyre loved horses and enjoyed all western films with John Wayne, as he was his favorite actor and he enjoyed spending a lot of time at his trailer in Fenwick Island.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Yvonda Lynn Lewis and husband, Kerry of Parsonsburg and Kim Teresa Rooks and husband, Bill; 3 sons Jerry Quinn McIntyre and his wife, Velma of Salisbury, David Wayne McIntyre and wife, Cheryl of Crisfield and Daniel Mark McIntyre of York, PA; 14 grandchildren, David, Jr., Danielle, Courtney, Joshua, Summer, Jerry, Jr., Jaime, Taryn, Lauren, Kristen, Amanda, Billy, Mike, Craig, and Chaz; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and cousin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel McIntyre in 2010 and a son, Ralph Benjamin McIntyre, Jr. in 1990.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Holloway Funeral Home with a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Carol Carlson will officiate.
