HEBRON, Md.- Reverend Paul Daniel Hilbert, Sr., 86, of Hebron, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 24th, 2012 at his home. Born in Emmaus, PA, he was the son of the late Rev. Sassaman Hilbert, Sr. and Mamie Beller Hilbert.

Reverend Hilbert was in the ministry for over 50 years since the age of 23. He pastored churches in MD, PA and DE. He also proudly served as chaplain at P.R.M.C. for 15 years. Reverend Hilbert and his wife, Ruth, are currently members of the Lighthouse Wesleyan Church in Fruitland.

He served in the US Army during WWII as a surgical technician 4th grade stationed in the Philippines. He also worked at General Motors retiring after 30 years.

Reverend Hilbert touched many lives and brought many to the Lord. He truly loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth Janet Pollock Hilbert; 2 sons, .Paul Daniel Hilbert, Jr. & his wife, Kathy, of Chelmsford, MA and Ricky L. Hilbert, & his wife,
Penny, of Salisbury; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Norman Hilbert of Allentown, PA; a sister, Geraldine Stair of GA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sassaman, Kyron, William, Stoy, Alfred and Marcus and 2 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with Rev. Daniel Gerber and Rev. Mike Adams officiating. There will be visitations at Holloway's on Monday, May 28th, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and also on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Eastern Shore Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock.

The family requests that contributions be made in his memory to Seyfert Family Camp, #6 Arbutus Court, Marlton, NJ 08053.
