Traffic Stop Leads To Handgun Violation

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Police allegedly found a handgun during a routine traffic stop. Ocean City Police report that they stopped a car that Lance Hawkins, 22, of Norfolk VA, was in, for a seatbelt violation.

Police say that the K-9 unit found a small amount of controlled dangerous substance, and during the search officers also found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun that they say belongs to Hawkins. He was charged with possessing a handgun in a vehicle, and released.
