SALISBURY, Md. - Sandra Tawes Banks, 64, of Salisbury, died on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born on September 27, 1947 in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ada Frances Riggin Tawes. Sandy graduated from Crisfield High School in 1966. She worked for many years for Gus and Aline Payne at the Western Auto in Snow Hill. She was also a 911 dispatcher for Worcester County and worked for the Worcester County LCB. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Snow Hill and loved her church and church family dearly.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband; Danny Brian Banks, brother in laws; Emmett Massey and David Nicodemus, and a nephew; Jamie Tawes. She is survived by her two daughters; Kimberly Bradshaw Baines and her husband Larry of Suffolk, VA, and Wendy Lee Bradshaw of Salisbury, two grandchildren; Nathan Lawrence Baines and Charlotte Peyton Baines of Suffolk. A brother; Eddie Tawes and his wife Jeanie of Lebanon, PA; three sisters; Sylvia Nicodemus of Springville, AL, Cecelia Massey of Quantico and Brenda Stottlemyer of Salisbury. She also leaves a special cousin, Donna Dugan, of Salisbury as well as aunts, an uncle, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
