Church Suffers Major Loss In Early Morning Fire

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - An early morning fire in the sanctuary of the Chestertown Seventh Day Adventist Church has caused extensive damage. The Chestertown Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze at 6:21 AM Tuesday and it took an hour to control. Preliminary investigations show that the source of the fire was due to an electrical malfunction. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshall, the one story brick building had a structural loss of $400,000 and $100,000 content loss.
