SALISBURY, Md. - Very little details are being revealed about that homicide investigation in Salisbury. Dozens of detectives have hit the streets, near Olivia Street where it happened on Monday night, in search for the alleged gunman that's still at large.
When Maryland State Police arrived on scene that night, that's when they discovered the lifeless body of 54-year-old Elmer Duffy of Salisbury in his car.
"We're looking at several possibilities, talking to several people in the community that know the victim and others, and we've taken an all hands on deck approach to this homicide," said Lieutenant Ernie Leatherbury of the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack.
WMDT took to the streets as well and caught up with a man, who did not want to reveal his identity, but says Duffy was a stand-up guy.
"I don't know him personally, but when I talked to him last Saturday he was a hard working man. Why someone killed him, I have no idea," he said.
Troopers are tight-lipped about a motive or whether they have a suspect in mind. Crime Solvers is offering a $2,500 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in this case. The community is encouraged to come forward. Callers can submit their tips anonymously at 410-548-1776.
