Ocean City Boat Show a Success

Posted: Updated:

Ocean City, Md. - Sunday marked the last day of the Ocean City Boat Show, and it's already being called a big success.

The Optimist Club says that last year they sold about 14,000 tickets, and they expect to surpass that number. With over 150 boat dealers and 350 boats, the Ocean City Boat Show is the largest show on the Eastern Shore, and people traveled from all over the area to take a look. "Most of our people we've gotten in the past have been coming from south of here from Accomack up to the Ocean City, Berlin area, but this year, I think we're getting them from all over the place - all different types of people," said Lewis Frey, President of the Optimist Club.

The boat show helps the Optimist Club give out scholarships. In fact, the group will award 12 lucky students from Stephen Decatur High School with 4-year scholarships.
