Stamp Prices Could Go Up

Posted: Updated:

WMDT 47 News - The Postal Service is expecting to lose $14.1 billion this fiscal year and bigger losses in the years to come.

It's led them to respond with several proposals including raising the prices of a stamp to 50 cents. In 2006, the price of a stamp was just 39 cents. Since then, it's been raised 4 times with the current price at 45 cents. The Postal Service says that adding on another nickel would raise revenues by $1 billion annually.
