Phase 2 - The Building Process

The volunteers are now ready to begin the building process and are seeking donations.  Because of the amount of gravel and fill that was spread on the area, raised beds are an absolute necessity.  City water is not to be used for irrigation purposes, so a shallow non-potable well must be dug.  A partial list of items needed include

  • Services of a licensed well driller (a shallow well pump and pressure tank have been donated)
  • Lumber for construction of the beds
  • Garden soil for within the beds and much for between the beds
  • Irrigation lines for drip line irrigation
  • Hand tools (new or used)
  • Seeds, seedlings, small fruiting shrubs
