
SALISBURY, Md. - Ruth Hamm Ellis, a loving mother and grandmother, formerly of Williamsport, PA, passed away February 8, 2012 at Washington Hospital Center, DC. She has resided in Salisbury, MD with her daughter and son-in-law for the past 3 years.
Born January 4, 1927 in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of Margaret and Leon Rothrock. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and an infant daughter.
Surviving are her children, Joyce Heaps and husband William of Berwick, PA, Deborah Gaines and husband Kevin of Salisbury, MD, with whom she resided, and Robert Hamm III of Bloomsburg, PA, sisters Katherine Craven and Naomi German and husband Fred, all of Williamsport, PA, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and very special friend Tony Dalo.
She was retired from Stroehmann's Bakery 23 years ago and has enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, going to yard sales, going to casinos and soaking up the sunshine.
There will be a private family service and no visitation. Memorial donations can be made to Oakridge Baptist Church, 321 Tilghman Road, Salisbury, MD and the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
